As a mutli award winning independent letting/estate agent, we can help with more than just residential sales, lettings and property management. Check out our top tips for decorating your wonderful home at Christmas below.

Tartan Never Goes Out Of Fashion

Really want to make your home the coziest and most fashionable place of all this Christmas without it looking too overbearing? Go tartan! Pairing greenery and tartan together is the perfect look for a living room / kitchen area. Basing your Christmas decor on a Scottish-Highlands inspired look will achieve a festive feeling in the most simplistic way.

Incorporate Traditional With Modern

Want to achieve the perfect balance between a modern and traditional look? Begin with the Christmas tree. A real tree will encourage a vintage and homely feeling, however, decorate it with lights and baubles rather than tinsel, which will add a modernistic feel. A deer head ornament on your wall will really encourage a rustic feel in your living room, as seen in the picture above. Also, if you’re lucky enough to have a gorgeous fireplace don’t neglect it! Decorate it with tinsel and greenery to really ensure it reaches its full Christmas look potential.

Make It All About The Tree

Want to make it all about the tree? Why not! We love real trees, however we also appreciate the fact fake trees don’t only last multiple years but are much easier to take care of. Either way, purchase the best quality tree you can within your budget (fake or real) and decorate it with lights, subtle tinsel and eye catching baubles. As you can see in the image above, keep the rest of your decor simple and neutral to ensure your guests really appreciate the beauty of your tree.

You Don’t HAVE to Have A Tree

Believe it or not.. you do not have to have a tree to complete your Christmas look. If you aren't having the family over this year and/ or simply just want to be a little individual, then why not keep things as simple as possible and decorate items like the fireplace, windows and surrounding to create the nostalgic and yet simple atmosphere with garland, bows and fairy lights etc. This lends to an elegant and Christmassy feel without the tree and all that comes with it. Colourful plants around your home will also really achieve a festive and fresh feeling. Good quality silk plants will not only stand the test of time but add vibrancy without the risk of them wilting before Santa arrives down your chimney! Pair your plants with some antique decorations and candles to reinforce a festive feel.

We hope our tips inspire you this Christmas and we at Chamberland Residential wish you all a safe and Merry Christmas... Ho Ho Ho!
